Above: Souville and the Souville Nase

The red line represents the French Frontline.

The Divisions in the text are the G.E. (Garde Ersatz Division) the 21. R. (21st Reserve Division) and 50. (50th Infantry Division.)

As can be seen on the key to the right.

The "furry" line represents the German front line on the 24th of July.

The broken line the advances on the 1st of August. The 21. R.D. has taken a large section of the Berg Wald and Fumin Wald. The Garde Ersatz Divison to the west of the Souville heights/Nase/Nez has gained no ground,

The 5th of August, the 21.R.D. adds a little corner to their ground gained, reaching the South East corner of the Chapitre Wald. The G.E.D. has once again made no gains in the face of a dogged French defence.

As can be seen in the area where the G.E.D. and 21. R.D. meet, there is an unstable sector where the frontline has been pierced by the French. Units of the 21. R.D. managed to close the gap.

The lines for the 8th, 17th and 28th are for other sections of the map.
